Privacy Policy for Verity
Last updated:
1. Data Collection
Verity does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or uploaded files to any external servers. All file processing occurs locally within your browser. There is no backend server. There is no database.
2. API Keys
If you choose to enter your own AI API keys, they are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. Verity has no backend and therefore has no access to your keys. Keys never leave your browser except when you explicitly make an AI API call, at which point your browser sends the key directly to the AI provider.
3. AI Provider Data
When you use AI features with your own API key, your data (pre-calculated statistics only, never raw files) is sent directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider. You are subject to their respective privacy policies and terms of service. Verity does not intermediate or view these requests.
4. No Tracking
Verity does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or any other purpose other than essential application functionality. There are no analytics scripts. There are no tracking pixels.
5. Local Storage
The only data stored by Verity is:
- Your API keys (if you choose to save them)
- Your app preferences (theme, layout settings)
All stored data remains on your device in localStorage and can be cleared at any time using the Clear All Keys button or your browser's settings.
6. No Account Required
You do not need to create an account. Verity does not collect email addresses, names, or any personal information.
7. Children's Privacy
Verity is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
9. Contact
For privacy concerns, users can clear all locally stored data via the Settings page or their browser settings. Since Verity has no backend and collects no data, there is no central contact for data requests.
